Game Of Thrones Characters Family Tree Season 1
At this time, most viewers have a good understanding of how the great houses of Westeros, Lannister, Targaryen, Baratheon, Stark, and Tyrell are linked to one another. This knowledge should, of course, include the truth about Jon Snow's parentage, which was revealed in the season 7 finale, namely that Jon is the legitimate son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen, rather than the bastard of Ned Stark and a lowborn woman as he was taught to think. When the party is overpowered by White Walkers and wights, resulting in numerous fatalities, Daenerys goes beyond the Wall with her dragons to save them. Despite the fact that Daenerys saves the remaining members of the company and assists in the capture and transportation of a living wight, the Night King severely wounds Viserion with an ice spear and reanimates his body as a wight. She is forced to abandon Jon Snow while he battles off wights in order to gain time for their escape. When Jon returns to Eastwatch, Daenerys sits at his bedside and resolves to battle the Night King after watching him slay Viserion and experiencing the menace for herself. Jon hands up his throne to Daenerys and swears devotion to her as his queen.
[I]t piqued my curiosity in their ancestry, so I went from there. I never intended to complete the entire thing, but when I saw I was nearly halfway through simply by producing Maekar's descendants, I caved: "While I'm at it, may as well do the rest." According to Maryon, the project was "a extremely difficult creative exercise, to constantly coming up with face diversity all while retaining the same'silver hair-purple eyes' traits and certain genetic connections."
1.2 The House of Targaryen
House Targaryen is the next on the list. In Game of Thrones, the Targaryens were one of the most powerful households. The reason for this was because they had dragons! House Targaryen's narrative starts with Aerys II, often known as the Mad King. Prior to Robert Baratheon's uprising, he was King of the Seven Kingdoms. Daenerys Targaryen is the primary character in this House. We see her amassing an army and assembling troops to reclaim what has been rightly hers throughout the series, the Iron Throne! She is the last surviving Targaryen for a while until it is revealed that Jon Snow is the son of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.
Game Of Thrones Characters Targaryen Family Tree
The strong Targaryen dynasty united the Seven Kingdoms, as Game of Thrones viewers have heard over and again. This is mostly due to Aegon the Conqueror, the first Aegon Targaryen. Several additional Aegons followed, notably the wise and kind Aegon V, best known to readers as Egg from Martins Dunk and Egg prequel tales. However, despite the fact that Egg stabilized the nation and reigned through a severe winter, the conclusion of his reign was not exactly a career high point. Sadly for Westeros, Aegon V's grandson was the "Mad King," Aerys II, best known as Daenerys' dead father.
House Blackfyre is an illegitimate house sanctioned by the lust-ridden Ruler Aegon Targaryen IV, who is widely regarded as the worst king ever. His decision, proclaimed from his deathbed, to legitimate all of the bastard offspring he fathered with his numerous mistresses sparked five generations of struggles for the throne known as the Blackfyre Rebellions. During the lengthy gap between seasons two and three of Game of Thrones, Maryon says she became interested in Martin's books and associated material. She began the Targaryen family tree project by accident after painting Baelor Breakspear and Maekar, two characters who appear significantly in Martin's collection of connected novellas based in the world of A Song of Ice and Fire. Naturally, the project became a whirlwind:
Viserys Targaryen (Viserys Targaryen)
Viserys was Aerys II's second child. He was a vain but vicious young man who effectively reared his younger sister, Daenerys, but not in a healthy manner. Exiled from the Seven Kingdoms with his sister when their father, Aerys, was overthrown, the siblings lived up in secret, and Viserys, desperate to take the Iron Throne, made Dany's upbringing a terrible misery by beating her.
To say the least, the family tree is convoluted. To keep the family lineage pure, the Targaryens were known to marry inside the family, marrying cousins and even siblings. However, the following are the most crucial aspects of the bloodline as they pertain to Game of Thrones. To make things as simple as possible, we won't include material from the books unless absolutely required. Targaryen, Aerys (The Mad King)
