We were under the impression that everything was finished, so it came as quite a surprise.âââ Watson, 26, is set to be in Cleveland later this week for his introduction news conference, likely on Friday, after the Browns acquired him from the Texans in exchange for six draft selections, three of which were first-round picks.
BEREA – The Cleveland Browns placed Pro Bowl receiver Jarvis Landry on the injured reserve list due to a sprain in the medial colateral ligament, which means he will miss at least three games. Landry suffered a rodilla injury on the first series of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. After intercepting a 9-yard pass on Cleveland's first play, he left the field and did not return to the game, which the Browns won 31-21.
Watson eventually signed with the Browns, who just acquired Amari Cooper and have promising young offensive and defensive linemen. In return, the Browns gave three first-round draft selections to Houston. Fournette re-signed with the Buccaneers this week, while Landry remained a free agent after being cut by the Browns earlier this summer.
Browns fans are still in awe of the Deshaun Watson deal, but the Browns are planning further moves in 2022 NFL Free Agency. Jarvis Landry and Will Fuller are still available as free agents, so the Browns may make a play to sign one of them to combine with Deshaun Watson.
