Hello everyone! I'm painting my kitchen (by myself) and I'm entirely torn between SW Amazing Gray (warmer gray) and SW Mindful Gray (cooler gray) for the pantry. Mindful Gray was the color I chose for my "test cabinet." And then I began having reservations, so I painted a single pantry door Amazing Gray to compare, and now I'm stuck.
Colored cabinets are having a moment right now. While retaining a neutral environment, a gray tone is a terrific alternative to an all-white kitchen. Here are some of the greatest gray cabinet colors! We didn't have the funds to totally renovate the kitchen when we initially moved into our present house (looking back, I wish we had), so we chose to paint the existing cabinets to refresh the room. It seemed a little daring at the time to paint the kitchen cabinetry gray. All-white kitchens were popular. I had previously painted white cabinets, but I believed that a deeper neutral would work better for our purposes this time. Gray kitchen cabinets are not only trendy, but they also have a timeless appearance since gray is a well-accepted neutral.
Examine all of the differences in this room. The green undertones are drawn out directly above the vegetation. Because of the shadows, the shade appears completely different at the top right of the wall compared to the top left. Examine this Mindful Gray living room in comparison to the one above. The paint hue seems to be considerably different in these two rooms.
If you use this paint hue in a light-filled area, it will undoubtedly seem more like a warm gray.
The image above exemplifies my argument. This is the same room, except now it's painted Mindful Gray. All of the furniture on the left is brown, bringing out a green undertone on the rear wall. On the right side of the shot, the chairs have been replaced with lighter-colored ones, and a light-colored rug has been added, removing the green undertone from the paint hue.

The days when white or off-white was the only acceptable paint to use on kitchen cabinets are long gone. Gray is quickly becoming a kitchen standard, and I'm all for it! Dovetail is a lovely charcoal gray with a blue undertone. It is a light grey hue that contrasts well with white. Dovetail was utilized for all of the inside doors in my house.
