After the pandemic, you may be a different person. In early April, a New York Times op-ed with that identical title appeared. The subhead said, "Our personalities are not fixed in stone." "They're more akin to sand dunes." The po-faced, New York Times-style tone encouraged folks to be as delightfully foolish as they could. Perhaps Hayden Christensen will be your new post-pandemic identity.
"It was a tremendous year for slang," said Don Caldwell, editor-in-chief of the Know Your Meme meme database. While Caldwell does not consider 2021 to be the most prolific year for slang, he does note that many of the memes this year originated on TikTok. "TikTok's popularity has skyrocketed. It's incredible, "Caldwell said. "TikTok's effect on society in general, but particularly slang, has risen exponentially this year, and it's unmistakable."

Meghan spoke of her difficulties transitioning to life as a member of the royal family, as well as the ensuing mental health challenges.
